This infraorder of arachnids represents the vast majority of living arachnids. Their chelicerae differ from others in their arrangement and movement. Instead of being parallel and facing forward, they are oriented diagonally, crossing each other in a pinching motion. If at all, they have fewer book lungs than, for example, Mygalomorphae.
At one to two years, the life expectancy of these animals is usually very short.
Araneomorphae includes many families, such as jumping spiders, wolf spiders, huntsman spiders, crab spiders, orb weavers, crevice weavers, ant spiders...
The 8-leggeds of the most species-rich group of the Araneae are usually excellent hunters with a wide variety of hunting methods.
