Caribena versicolor

(Walckenaer, 1837)

Antilles pinktoe (arboreal)
Martinique
~ 6 cm bodylength
Longevity: ♀ ~ 12 years, ♂ ~ 3 years

A - for arboreals - quite calm species, which, however, also knows how to defend itself if necessary. It lives on trees in knotholes or cracks in the holf in lush webs. This is usually the same in the terrarium. The C. versicolor prefers the upper third and weaves wide tubes. With sufficient ventilation and some humidity, this species is relatively easy to keep. The dress changes its appearance with age and the abdomen later develops red hair. Corresponding pictures will be submitted later.
