Cyriopagopus hati hati

(Simon, 1887)

Purple earth tiger tarantula (arboreal / terrestrial)
Indonesia
~ 5 cm bodylength
Longevity: ♀ ~ 14 years, ♂ ~ 3 years

Originally described as an arboreal spider, however, the animal digs at least as much in the ground. But cork tubes are also gladly accepted (preferably in old age). Adequate humidity is a prerequisite for keeping Cyriopagopus. The eating behavior is very good, and the animals are very, very fast. They do not tolerate disturbances at all, if there is light or little noise they withdraw immediately. Sex can be determined by appearance in adult animals.
